It had an interesting rich brown finish that really highlighted some nice grain around bowl. We purchased the pipe on an online auction from Vanceburg, Kentucky, USA. But the Labour Day weekend is almost over and I have time to work on at least one more pipe so why not this one. Maybe I just wanted a change of pace for a while. It is not a particularly tough restoration so I am not sure why I was dragging my heels. I have a very strong suspicion that these are made by Mauro Armellini not only because they came in the same lot as 6 Armellinis, but from several sources on pipe forums. Overall in nice shape, pretty lucite stems, all well smoked but clean on the outside. 15 Tinderbox Verona pipes, made by Mauro Armellini I just got a huge lot of pipes, and these are among the nicest ones, sixteen Tinderbox Pipes, most of them bear the Verona name, but t is one Napoli, one Varese.
